Stanford Gibson Primary School has a full-time school social
worker available to students and their families. Working
closely with staff and faculty, the social worker helps assist
those in need. Since Stanford Gibson is committed to
working with our community, the social worker assists in

of events such as Community Read Day, PAWS Reading Program,
Halloween Safety, and Fire Safety help bring fun, learning,
and safety to our Little Twisters.

The school counselors serve the needs
of all Gibson students by helping them to develop academically,
personally and socially. The school counselors meet all students
in the K-3 classrooms, when they provide the “Little Twister” character
education program which promotes school success skills. The
counselors are available to meet with students individually,
or in groups to assist with the development of responsible
school behavior, and positive social and interpersonal skills.
The school counselors also consult with families and staff
regarding individual student needs, and during times of crisis.
If you would like to contact your child’s school counselor
call Mrs. LaFever, or Mrs. van der Sommen for assistance.
