a school social worker and other specialized staff
provide support services for students at Perry Browne
Intermediate School. Additional student support is
provided through an on-site health clinic under the
direction of Chenango Memorial Hospital.

Perry Browne Intermediate School has a full time school
psychologist. Mrs. Lawton works with the families, staff,
and outside agencies on behalf of the students at Perry Browne.
The role of the school psychologist is to use their specialized
training to ensure that every child learns in a safe, healthy
and supportive environment. School psychologists use many
different approaches and typically provided the following
services: consultation, evaluation, intervention, prevention,
and research and planning.

Perry Browne Intermediate School has a full-time school social
worker available to students and their families. Working
closely with staff, faculty, and administration, the social
worker helps assist those in need. The school social worker
assists in collaborating with area agencies, businesses,
and community members to serve families in the Norwich School
District. Social work services are provided with recognition
and celebration of the strengths in the membership of the
Perry Browne Intermediate School community.

The school counselors assist all students by helping them
develop academically, personally, and socially. The school
counselors work on school-wide character education throughout
the year; and work with the physical education teachers on
Project Adventure activities twice a year. They meet with
students individually and in small groups to discuss a variety
of needs. The school counselors are available to consult
with parents, teachers, and administrators to promote student
