At Perry Browne
Intermediate School, we are committed to academic excellence
and provide a well-developed curriculum aligned with NYS
Standards for students in grades 4 - 6. We offer
traditional, looping, and departmentalized instructional
settings in classrooms. Students in traditional classrooms
receive the majority of their classroom instruction from
one teacher for one school year whereas students in looping
classrooms receive the majority of their instruction from
the same teacher for two consecutive years. In departmentalized
classrooms, students receive their instruction from teams
of two or more teachers. We provide speech and language
services, gifted and talented instruction, counseling,
occupational and physical therapy, and collaborative remedial
and special education support. Our students receive
instruction in art, music, library, computer literacy,
and physical education. We also offer chorus, band,
and instrumental music, intramural's, and art enrichment.
Our staff understands the profound impact
the work we do has on the life of our students. We
strive to provide a safe nurturing learning environment
where every child can demonstrate their strengths and receive
support for their needs. We know that we need to
build a partnership with the parents and caregivers of
our students if we are going to help all children be successful. You
are encouraged to be actively involved in your child’s
education. We promise to keep looking for more ways
to make you feel welcome.
